Arnhem Philharmonic Orchestra
Driven by musical ambition, inspired by the public, and closely linked to their environment. That is the Arnhem Philharmonic Orchestra (Het Gelders Orkest)! They share their passion for classical music with people of all ages in Gelderland and beyond. They perform famous and lesser-known works, and appear with world-renowned soloists, young stars and great guest conductors. Their musicians grow and shine under the direction of chief conductor Per-Otto Johansson. The Arnhem Philharmonic Orchestra continually strives to touch as many people as possible.
That is why they not only organise symphonic concerts, but also a surprising array of alternative musical encounters and adventurous crossovers. One such case is the worthy and innovative event being organised in memory of the Battle of Arnhem at the foot of the John Frost Bridge, the Bridge to Liberation Experience. As a regular partner of Bridge to Liberation, the Arnhem Philharmonic Orchestra delivers a great performance every single year to commemorate Operation Market Garden and the Battle of Arnhem. Together with the other artists, they will be performing the music program on the floating stage beneath the bridge. This year will be their sixth time as part of Bridge to Liberation.
