Everyone of 45 years and older can still remember it; World Liberty Concert at the John Frost Bridge in Arnhem. In honor of the fiftieth celebration of the liberation of Europe in 1995. At the time, the largest memorial concert ever held in the Netherlands. Now, 25 years later, in the crown year 75 years of the Battle of Arnhem, Bridge to Liberation presents its program in which WET WET WET returns to that historic John Frost bridge in Arnhem. On Friday, September 20, they will again write history with their performance in Bridge to Liberation.
A musical phenomenon
In recent years, Wet Wet Wet has made a huge impact with their music. With no less than 3 number one singles; “With A Little Help From My Friends” (1988), “Good Night Girl” (1991) and “Love Is All Around” (1994). Their best known hits in NL are Angel Eyes and Sweet Surender. Nowadays, they are still one of the most successful bands in British pop history. 500 weeks in the charts, played live for more than 4,000,000 spectators, in dozens of countries around the world. In 2017 the band celebrated its 30th birthday and in 2018 young Kevin Simm (Winner of ‘The Voice UK’ 2016) joined as lead singer. Different generations on one stage, a unique musical presentation with an impressive history.
