What we do

What we do

The Bridge to Liberation Foundation has set itself the goal of reflecting on the impact of the Battle of Arnhem in a new way and both with and for a wide audience. Learning from this and translating the lessons into ones for today and the future increases the relevance of understanding and appreciating the impact of war and the value of freedom for future generations.

From 2022-2025, we will further resonate our mission by sharing the historical international relevance of the Battle of Arnhem, as part of Operation Market Garden (1944). Together with the municipality of Arnhem, partners from the Airborne Region and (inter)national museums and memorial organizations, we create the themes.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT WE DO THIS

New generations have different needs. So as we get further and further away from WW2, it is important to give remembrance and commemoration a different form and purpose in addition to remembering, honouring and offering comfort. Within the new commemoration, stories from the past remain important, both for now and in the future. These memories show that certain dilemmas apply to and affect all times. In this way, Bridge to Liberation serves a wide audience within our modern society.
