2018: PERSONAL RESISTANCE

In 2018, there will be a national focus on resistance and reflection on peace and freedom. It's small acts of resistance that saved us. The silent heroes who never saw themselves as heroes. But how important were their actions? That bit of humanity that reminds us that we are still human and have not degenerated into animals. That we have been able to resist the lure of darkness. Resistance without violence is there to keep courage alive.

STORY: THE ANGEL OF ARNHEM

During WWII, people, at the risk of their own lives, showed public resistance by wearing signs of resistance such as OZO (orange will conquer), the V for Victory, the W for Wilhelmina or orange pins. Nowadays people color their profile pictures on social media when they want to make a positive impression. We therefore see the new resistance in 2018 as standing for something. Alone, together or (un)consciously with a whole group. In Bridge to Liberation Experience we approach the theme of resistance from the present; personal resistance = standing up for something.
