BRIDGE TO LIBERATION

On September 20, we will commemorate the anniversary of 80 years of freedom at the foot of the historic John Frost Bridge and via stream, which will also be extensively celebrated.

On the floating stage, with a large LED screen in the John Frost Bridge as a background, the artists Karsu, SEF, Jaap Reesema, Thomas Oliemans bring their enchanting performances together with Phion, orchestra of Gelderland and Overijssel. With Introdans, Jurriën Schobben shows a special choreography about the impact of war. Narrator Welmoed Sijtsma takes visitors, viewers and listeners into the personal experiences of Max Wolff during the liberation of Europe.

Meet Bridge to Li's first artist

Meet the first artist of Bridge to Liberation 2024: @yousefgnaoui. The Moroccan-Dutch rapper broke through in 2006 with his hit 'Me Nikes', followed by classics such as 'Stuk' and 'Tijdmachine'. Sef is known for his socially relevant and creative approach and is active in the Dutch music world. On September 20, Sef will be on stage in the Rhine under the John Frost Bridge during Bridge to Liberation, and we will reflect on 80 years of freedom. Are you watching? On September 20, we will commemorate 80 years of freedom at the John Frost Bridge with Bridge to Liberation. The life story of WWII veteran Max Wolff is central. During Bridge to Liberation, which can be followed live on TV Gelderland and via a livestream, the audience is taken into an evening full of music, dance, stories and special effects on a stage again in the Rhine. This day reminds us of the courage and sacrifices of the many who fought for our freedom during World War II. Living in freedom is not self-evident. It is a precious resource that we must cherish and protect. Today, let us reflect together on this historic event and honor the people who gave their lives for our freedom. At Bridge to Liberation in September we will reflect on Operation Market Garden and the Battle of Arnhem. These events, at the iconic John Frost Bridge, remind us of the arduous struggle and sacrifices made for our liberation.
