Freedom is more than the absence of war. Freedom lives in the choices we make every day. To see each other. To help each other. To love each other.
Ultimately, everything revolves around connection. For what we carry alone makes us vulnerable. What we carry together makes us stronger. No human is made to bear what life brings entirely alone. We need each other. Always!
This was Bridge to Liberation 2026.
The stories of Kiek Bierman-van der Does, Alice Muusse, Marian Fogteloo-Broeker, and Emmy Drop-Menko touch us deeply. We have seen here on the big screens this evening, or at home, how they experienced the Battle of Arnhem and the evacuation as children. Personal memories that show how war can permanently shape a human life.
