Wow! DI-RECT will be on stage at Bridge to Liberation on Friday, September 17!

What an honor that this great Dutch band will add color to the emotions shared in this special edition. We know for sure; goosebumps guaranteed!

.A FLYING START

Started in 1999 with a flying start and hits such as 'Just the Way I do' and 'Inside my Head', DI-RECT quickly became an indispensable part of the Dutch musical landscape.

The fifteen years that followed were a 'rollercoaster ride'. With 7 albums, several top 10 hits, countless awards and more than 2000 live shows at home and abroad, DI-RECT has shown that 'they're here to stay'.

In 2009 Marcel Veenendaal took over from singer Tim Akkerman. The first single in the new composition 'Times are Changing' became the first No. 1 hit the band ever scored and this dream start heralded a whole new era.

DI-RECT has now celebrated its 15th anniversary. The band celebrated this on a grand scale with a concert on the beach of Scheveningen for 12,500 people.

15 YEARS DIRECTLY, AND THEN?

In the autumn of 2017, 'Rolling with the Punches', DI-RECT's new album, was released. The release of this Edison-nominated album was recently celebrated with the band's largest club show to date at the AFAS Live. This spring the band will take this new music into the country with the “Rolling with the Punches” club tour.

Putting on a big show in the AFAS Live was a great challenge and an intensive adventure. Over the years, it has been 'natural' for DI-RECT to be on the road. After the 'one of' show last fall, it quickly became clear that the band wanted to go into the country with this show. Last spring, the band sold out 11 shows across the country. That is why 7 shows have been added to the 'Rolling With The Punches' tour in October.
