Jesse Laport (born 1991), a qualified writer, was appointed City Poet of Arnhem in 2012 (and remains so), and is also an organizer, writer, presenter, actor, musician, editor, and guest lecturer. Jesse Laport—who always appears on stage in a suit and tie—has previously performed for the Royal Family, at the Geen Daden Maar Woorden Festival, Zwarte Cross, Pukkelpop, at Paradiso, given a Ted Talk, and much more. Laport is the keynote speaker and presenter at Mensen Zeggen Dingen (People Say Things), and the organizer and public face of the open mic Tapschrift. His work has appeared in various anthologies, newspapers, magazines, on walls, and in halls. He gives workshops primarily to groups of young people, at art schools and primary schools.
