Nazmiye Oral

Nazmiye Oral has been co-writing the screenplay for Bridge to Liberation since 2017. She will continue in this role in 2021. You'll also see her on stage this year!

During a special presentation on Friday, September 17th, during Bridge to Liberation, she will share her thoughts on the impact of war and the value of freedom. VERSATILE AND AUTHENTIC Nazmiye Oral is an actress, writer, theater maker, and storyteller. She won a Golden Calf, was one of the founders of the Zina platform, and has performed on stage as far away as New York with taboo-breaking performances like "De gesluierde monologen" (The Veiled Monologues) and, alongside her mother, in "Niet Meer Zonder Jou" (Not Without You Anymore). She is a sought-after columnist (including for de Volkskrant and the TV programs De Vooravond and De Nieuwe Maan). In 2011, her novel Zehra was published, for which she was nominated for the E. du Perron Prize. In her work, Oral continually explores how to relate to those with different views without denying herself. This year, she will be seen as an actress in the television film "Dezitting" (The Sitting) and the series "Bonnie & Clyde.".
