2014: 70 YEARS OF MARKET GARDEN

2014 marked the 70th anniversary of Operation Market Garden; a special commemoration was held at Airborne Square in the presence of veterans, followed by the first multimedia spectacle, the Bridge to Liberation Experience . The John Frost Bridge, which took the audience on a visual and audio journey through the story of Operation Market Garden, the Battle of Arnhem, the withdrawal, evacuation, and the reconstruction of the city, seen through the eyes of an 11-year-old girl.

STORY: THE BATTLE OF ARNHEM

The first experience, created to commemorate the Battle of Arnhem together and in a new way, tells the story of the Battle of Arnhem. It begins at the very beginning, when the paratroopers landed in the area around Arnhem. It tells the story of the moment the Arnhemmers were forced to leave their homes, only to return to their Arnhem much later, once the Netherlands was liberated. It tells the story of what they found there.
