Ruben Hein

Pianist and singer Ruben Hein is widely praised for his characteristic, warm voice and idiosyncratic piano playing. From the release of his first single 'Elephants' in 2010, Ruben's career gained momentum with high radio ratings, many festival shows, sold-out theater shows and collaborations with, among others, Het Metropole Orchestra, Oleta Adams and FINK. Through his participation in TV programs such as Linda's Zomerweek and Wie Is De Mol, Ruben became known to a wider audience.

On September 17, Ruben Hein will shine on the stage of Bridge to Liberation. He will add color to the emotion of the stories with his warm, special voice.INSPIRATION “As a child and teenager, music was an inexhaustible source of inspiration, energy and discoveries. In all ignorance, I responded purely instinctively to the music I heard. I thought it was cool or not. I lost that feeling as I got older. You learn more, you are less surprised, you develop yourself. But I missed that feeling very much, I wanted to find it again. And as simple as it sounds, I had to do that by going back to my basics, how I started as a child: singing behind a piano, alone, without any notion of knowledge or opinions.” A NEW ALBUMFor his latest album, Ruben combines his love for music and nature. He did this by building a mini-studio on board an expedition ship and sailing along Antarctica for three weeks. In the evening he translated the impressions he perceived during the day into musical compositions and lyrics.

With the upcoming album, Ruben will not place his music within an existing box, but rather position it in the middle of the genres. His music style is at the intersection of genres such as: pop, soul, indie, jazz, rock and singer songwriter.

The first single from Ruben's new album will be released at the end of August. The single 'Guard Down' can then be listened to on all streaming platforms.
