The design

The freedom skirt is made from leftover fabric from all the other looks and refers to connecting differences and stories.

The tents on her arms represent the time she and her family spent in a refugee camp. Even though the outside world is dark and gloomy, feeling the loving warmth of your family around you as a child can make you feel safe and loved even in the most dire circumstances. Her bright yellow outfit radiates positivity. The small doll on the bag is an outfit for her inner child; a hug for the little girl inside her.

Brave is the word on the back of the skirt, which Mirte created together with Dashni, and it represents the strength to survive.
